On September 16, global higher education research firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027. The MBA program at the School of Business, Hunan University has made its debut on the list, ranking 9th among the 12 mainland Chinese institutions featured and 51st in Asia. Hunan University is the only newly added mainland Chinese university in this year's ranking.
The QS Global MBA Rankings evaluate full-time MBA programs offered by world-class universities and business schools across multiple dimensions—including career development, return on investment, alumni achievements, academic influence, and student profile—providing a comprehensive assessment of each program's overall strength and global competitiveness.
Approved to offer MBA programs in 1993, the School was the first MBA degree-granting institution in Hunan Province and has been enrolling full-time students since 2001. In 2025, the full-time International MBA program was launched. The School continues to strengthen its international education focus, optimizing the student intake profile, and significantly elevating both its global brand prestige and social impact.
In recent years, the School has pursued an open and collaborative approach to education and has earned the three most prestigious international accreditations for business schools: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. Its debut in the QS Global MBA Rankings marks a milestone reflecting sustained growth in both academic excellence and global influence.
Looking ahead, the School will fully implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and cultivating well-rounded people, align its development with major national strategic needs, and uphold its school spirit—"Unity of Knowledge and Practice; Advancing with Integrity." It remains committed to nurturing business leaders who apply learning to practice for the new era and advancing the construction of a world-class business school with distinctive Chinese characteristics and profound historical and cultural heritage.
