In his address, Yang Zhi extended a warm welcome and congratulations to all new students on behalf of the School. He noted that this year marks the 1,050th anniversary of the founding of Yuelu Academy and the 100th anniversary of Hunan University naming. As one of the first universities in China to pilot the DPAcc program, Hunan University has consistently been committed to cultivating high-level applied professionals in accounting, advocating an approach that originates from practice and is oriented toward application. He encouraged students to carry forward the spirit of "seeking truth from facts and daring to be first," cultivate a deep sense of national responsibility, strengthen academic perseverance, uphold professional integrity, ground their research in China's realities, and integrate research outcomes into social development.

Qiu Jun, representative of the new students, stated that the cohort would uphold the original aspiration embodied in the theme "Returning from a Hundred Battles to Study Again," pursue rigorous research, and forge ahead with determination.

Following the ceremony, an orientation class meeting for the 2026 DPAcc cohort was held.
