The 16th ACCA National Education Forum, hosted by the global professional accounting body ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), was recently held in Guangzhou. At the forum's 2025 Partner Institution Award Ceremony, the ACCA program at the School of Business, Hunan University, received two honors: the 2025 ACCA "Teaching Achievement Award" and "Elite Cultivation Award."
Themed "Adapting to Change, Educating for the Future: Reshaping the Accounting Profession and Empowering Educational Innovation," the forum focused on the latest reforms to the ACCA professional qualification, provided in-depth analysis of the new competency framework centered on digital empowerment and sustainable development, and explored its multidimensional value in empowering accounting talent cultivation at universities.
Launched in 2008, Hunan University's ACCA-oriented Accounting Program was the first ACCA program in Hunan Province and one of the earliest formally established ACCA-oriented programs in China created in cooperation with ACCA. Over its 17 years of operation, the School has brought together outstanding faculty from its accounting discipline to cultivate first-class accounting professionals. The program has previously received the ACCA Outstanding University Award, the ACCA Teaching Achievement Award, and the ACCA South China Region Outstanding Faculty Development Award. Three students have ranked first in mainland China in individual ACCA Global Exam papers, and one faculty member has been named ACCA Outstanding Professional Tutor of the Year.
