On June 26,HNUBS (Business School of Hunan University)received formal notification fromEFMD (European Foundation for Management Development)that it had been awarded EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditation for the first time.Up till now,HNUBS has achieved three majorauthoritative accreditation:EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA.It is now officially the1stin Hunan,the 16thin mainland Chinaandthe 10thamong “Double First-Class” universitiesto earn the prestigious “Triple Crown”.According to statistics,among over16,000 business schoolsin the world, only less than 1% have obtained the three major international accreditation at the same time.

EQUISaccreditation, managed by EFMD whose headquarter is in Brussels, evaluates business school’s international education quality. EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA are known as the three most authoritative and highest-level quality accreditation systems on a global basis.It is worth to mention that EQUIS has an extremely strict evaluation process and a very high-level assessment system.Its evaluation indexes cover every aspects of business school management and development including development strategy, educational programs, faculty qualifications, academic research, students education, alumni relations, executive education, administrative support and resource allocation.
The peer review team consists of four members:Professor Thomas Froehlicher, former Dean and Director General of Rennes School of Business (France),Professor Mayasandra Ravishankar, Dean and Director of Queen's Management School at Queen’s University Belfast (UK),Professor Zhaohua Wang, Dean of the School of Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology (China) and Dr. Donatella De Vita, Global Development Director at Pirelli (Italy) and member of the EQUIS Accreditation Board. The four experts highly praised the achievements our school has made after a four-day on-site evaluation from April 22thto 25th.
International accreditationhelps business school to improve its education level and expand its global influence. Adhering to the education principle of openness and cooperation, HNUBS worked hard on international accreditation in the past few years. Through the rigorous assessment systems, the school hopes to speed up its reform and development schedule while improve its management level, integrating the assessment standards into our development targets.
