The 10th “Gobi Challenge” Launched in the Business School, HNU

A grand opening ceremony of "the 10th Gobi Challenge" was held by EMBA faculties and students of Hunan University in Sand Beach Park of Orange Isle, Changsha City on the evening of Nov. 22nd. Main leaders and teachers of the School, including Dean of the School- Ma Chaoqun, Vice Dean -Lei Hui, Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Zeliang and the Director and Executive Director of the EMBA Center Liu Zhao and Li Ping, presented the ceremony. Besides, EMBA Outdoor Exercises Club, Golf Club, Badminton Club of Hunan University and over 150 alumnus and students attended this ceremony.

President of Outdoor Exercises Club Liu Yi, delivered the welcome speech, then the executive president Liu Fuchu introduced the two former Gobi Desert Challenges and expressed his anticipation towards the event.

Dean Ma Chaoqun said that the Gobi trudge experience could be a huge inspiration to both individuals and enterprises, which would be unreachable in class, and he encouraged more students to take part in this event to conquer the Gobi and challenge themselves.

The Road of Xuanzang--EMBA Gobi Challenge is an experiential cultural contest held among the EMBA students from Chinese-speaking business schools. The contest route is in the Mohe Yanqi Gobi, also named "Eight-hundred li Running Sand", located in the border between Gansu Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. From 2006 until now, total 9 sessions have been held, and the 10th Gobi Challenge will kick off in Guazhou in May 2015. The EMBA of the Business School, HNU, joined the Gobi Challenge in 2013 and achieved the Shackleton Award in 2014, an award for team spirit.
