Regional President for Bosch Electrical Drives for Asia Pacific Dr. Norman Roth was employed as a part-time professor and member of strategy advisory committee of Business School of Hunan University (HNU). The appointment ceremony was held at the meeting room of the school on January 7, 2017.
Bosch has been keeping strategic cooperation with HNU for years. Dr. Roth’s engagement would further deepen the partnership between Bosch and the university.
Dean of Business School Prof. Ma Chaoqun introduced the school on its academic, research, and educational achievements. “The USA and Germany boast their own innovation superiorities. Bosch’s Industry 4.0 initiative is rather impressive”, he added. HNU and Bosch coincide in the idea of pragmatic, mass-based, and industry-based innovation. Every year, professors from Germany were invited to give lectures at HNU, who have brought in Germany’s latest concepts, especially Bosch’s cutting-edge concepts of innovation to us. These concepts are of great reference significance to the development of the University. And Bosch has set good models for Chinese enterprises and students, Ma remarked.
Dr. Roth appreciated HNU’s trust on Bosch and himself. He first briefed about his work in Bosch, as well as Bosch’s Industry 4.0 factories as a key part of its Asia Pacific business. He noted that Bosch has been persisting in innovation during its 130-odd-year growth, which inspired its sustainable development.
Dr. Roth hoped that HNU, an important partner of Bosch, would continue to support Bosch’s Changsha business. General Manager of Bosch Automotive Products (Changsha) Co., Ltd. Wei Yan also proposed multiple ways of cooperation, such as discussing together on establishing Industry 4.0 specifications and standards, and cultivating students’ practice ability accordingly.
