On April 3, the Faculty Development Center of Academic Affairs, Hunan University, organized a case studies workshop for all youth faculty members. Director Professor Guowei Zhu of Case Studies and Teaching Center of Hunan University presided over the event.

The workshop aims to build case capability. Director Professor Guowei Zhu from Business School of Hunan University, a global scholar in case study who specializes case teaching and writing and help developed case study method in teaching through working with Harvard, Booth, Kellogg and other top institutes.

The workshop was open with Q & A in teaching and writing case studies. So the school invited Professor Guowei Zhu as a director, the researcher of the Case Center of China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), and visiting scholar of the University of Michigan. He has conducted academic exchanges and visiting studies at first-class universities, like Harvard University, Northwestern University, and has a wealth of experience cooperating with enterprises.

The workshop was open with Q & A in teaching and writing case studies. Then Professor Zhu shared the process of the Harvard case study method and the importance of engaging students in the class. Professor Guowei Zhu then introduced the case method that Harvard guides students through preparation, teaching, group discussion and evaluation etc.

Business School of Hunan University hopes that case study improves faculty’s capability,broaden the international perspective of students, and diversify the teaching method and more excellent businesses cases can be shared and used by peer faculty members in the world.
