On 25thJune, the 5th Dean Forum of Business Administration Discipline in Hunan Province was held in Hengyang. The purpose of which was to thoroughly implement the spirit of ‘Opinions on Accelerating the Reform and Development of Postgraduate Education in the New Era’issued by the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Finance.The opinion targetson accelerating the construction of business administration discipline and continuously improving the quality of postgraduate training. The forum was hosted by the Office of the Academic Degrees Committee of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, and undertaken by the Graduate School of the University of South China and the School of Economics, Management and Law of the University of South China.

As the earliest initiator and advocate of the forum, Professor Ma Chaoqun was invited to attend this forum and presentedan academic report on the‘Opportunities and Talent Demands of Business Education in the Digital Economy Era’. From the perspectives of civilization evolution, economic development, and technological revolutions, he elaborated that human beings have opened a new era of being digital. He also set forth his views that digital technology has opened a new path for economic society to expand from the field of consumption and entertainment to the field of production and governance.And the underlying logic basis for the rise of the era of the digital economy was expounded. Then he analyzed the main characteristics of the digital economy era, the opportunities and challenges faced by business education, and the demand for digital talents and their essential characteristics. Professor Ma Chaoqunproposed forward suggestions and ideas for the construction of digital talent training mode, teaching mode, curriculum system, and other discipline constructions. The contents of the report were fully affirmed and highly appraised by the participants.
The forum is a significant step to further integrate resources and promotethe high-quality development of business administration discipline in Hunan Province.
