Teachers and Students of the Marketing Department Went to Hikvision for Investigation

On the afternoon of 22ndJune,studentsof 2022 grade of the Marketing Department went to the Hunan Business Center of Hikvision to conductan enterprise investigation with Li Ping, Director of EDP Center of Hunan University, Zheng Pei, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Marketing Department of theBusiness School, and Tu Yangjun, Department Director. Min Hejun, President of the Hunan Business Center of Hikvision, Wang Yang, Secretary of the Party Branch, and Tao Xudong, a marketing expert, treated the team with great hospitality.

President of Hikvision Min HejunIntroduced the Basic Situation of Hikvision

Min Hejun first welcomed the teachers and students of the Business School. He introduced the current situation of the company from the aspects of company scale, development, basic business, business organization, and three major business groups of Hikvision.The introduction focused on the company’s core competitiveness and corporate culture.

Marketing Expert Tao XudongIntroduced Hikvision

Tao Xudong introduced Hikvision’s exploration in the technical field from five aspects: data collection, data processing, data display, data storage, and data application. Hikvision has built an intelligent perception platform, an AI open platform, and an IoT-information fusion data resource platform, which was based on the three major technologies of ‘big data, artificial intelligence, and IoT perception’. The company applied big data, artificial intelligence, and IoT technologies to health code verification, road safety warning, personnel control and tracking, and other rich real-life scenarios. In the process of speaking, the students were shown the implementation of road traffic prevention and control technology via video.

Tu Yangjun talked about the current development of the Marketing Department of Hunan University. In the recent Shanghai Ranking for the undergraduate majors in China, the Marketing Department of the Business School has once again received an A+ rating(the top 2% of the country), which was the joint effort of the whole department. He encouraged the students to work hard and make continuous efforts to make new contributions to the comprehensive promotion of ‘world-class universities and disciplines’of the school and the cultivation of innovative leaders.

In the question and answer session, Wang Yang had an in-depth discussion with the students on how Hikvision deal with the challenges of the environment and the future development direction. They had heated discussions and in-depth communication, ideas collision, and inspiration exchange on two aspects: improving hard power with roots in reality and building a domestic brand image toimprove influence.

Li Ping made a professional comment on the issues discussed by the students and put forward the importance of high-dimensional thinking. He emphasized that in the current era of rapid development, business scholars should take responsibility for creating a new civilization of the times.

The teachers and students of the Business School visited Hunan Business Center of Hikvision, R&D Center of Hikvision, etc. after the meeting.The teamdirectly experienced the working atmosphere of Hikvision members and had a further understanding of the corporate culture of Hikvision.

Students Experienced Products of Hikvision

Through this investigation, the students learned about the products and technologies of Hikvision. And they understood that the domestic market expansion and international development of Chinese major smart technology brands still have a long way to go. The students all said that young people will be the new blood of the company in the future. As marketing students, they should earnestly learn professional knowledge, pay attention to social development, and improve themselves.So they can better shoulder the responsibilities on their shoulders.
